The Purpose of the Edisto Art Guild:
To support and promote the arts in our community for the benefit of the residents and tourists.
Activities of the Edisto Art Guild:
The Edisto Art Guild was organized in the early 1990s with the purpose to "benefit all citizens, through promotion of the arts and performing arts…” It is a non-profit tax exempt 501 (C)(3) organization and all donations are fully tax deductible. The Edisto Art Guild sponsors the Edisto concert series by Chamber Music Charleston, organizes two arts and crafts shows a year at the Edistonian, sponsors an annual juried art show followed by a members’ art exhibit at the Edisto Island Museum, funds arts programming at local schools, provides funds for the scholarship funds of EICA and Community Services of Edisto, and provides at least one community theater production each year. We also have monthly programs featuring poetry, music, and presentations by regional artists and artisans. Programs are held the second Monday of each month September through May at the Civic Center at 42 Station Court at 7 p.m. Membership is open to anyone over 18 with an interest in supporting the arts. Annual dues are $25 per individual or $45 for a couple. The annual business meeting is held in October.
If you have an interest in either participating in or supporting the arts in the Edisto area, be sure to visit the Contact Us portion of this website.
