The Arts in the Park concert series is gearing up for Summer 2026! In order to bring diverse musical experiences to the local community and visitors, the Art Guild seeks out a variety of musical styles and genres to perform as part of the summer series. Concerts are held at Bay Creek Park on Docksite Road (and the August performance at the Edisto Beach Civic Center) in The Town of Edisto Beach on one Sunday in each month from May to August. Admission is free! Bring your own chairs or blankets and snacks and enjoy the show!

Arts in the Park 2026 Concert Series

A series of monthly free concerts will bring some “cool” to Edisto Beach this summer, thanks to The Edisto Art Guild. Each concert will start at 7 p.m., and each show will feature a pre-event at 6:30 pm. The first three events will be held at Bay Creek Park, and the finale will be held at the Edisto Beach Civic Center.

“We are excited to be able to add an additional concert for this popular summer series and also feature artists who have never performed on Edisto. The preconcert events will give everyone a chance to come early and get set for a great evening of entertainment.” Lisa Harrell, Edisto Art Guild President.

The series will kick off on May 24 with Nashville recording artist Alex Key. Alex will be bringing his full band and his own brand of traditional country music to the Bay Creek Park stage. Key’s most recent album, “Outdated,” debuted at #1 on Amazon music best sellers and new releases, reached #7 on the iTunes Charts after the title track (“Outdated") went viral, gaining almost 27 million views across social media, and has since seen over 16 million album streams since its release. In addition to the concert, at 6:30 p.m. the Art Guild will be offering a free opportunity for a Memorial Day themed craft of poppies and pinwheels. Materials and instructions will be provided for guests to make a poppy or a pinwheel to acknowledge the service and sacrifices of Memorial Day.

On June 14 Bay Creek Park will be bursting with soulful vibes of Motown Throwdown, a powerhouse soul band steeped in the traditions of funk, soul, pop, rock, R&B, and jazz soul. Motown Throwdown will bring their enormous performance energy, filled with ripping solos, soulful vocals, and catchy melodies topped with a thick, relentless funk-driven core. To get everyone ready to throw down, the Art Guild will host a Funky Fashion Show at 6:30 p.m. with prizes for the best-dressed guests who are prepared to bring the funk!

The last outdoor concert at Bay Creek Park on July 12 will feature the “Americana Pop” sound of Prettier Than Matt. Armed with a ukulele, a guitar, and a collection of improvised percussion created by their own feet, Prettier Than Matt’s stories unfold through crystalline harmonies and infectious melodies. In addition to their own songs, expect carefully reimagined versions of your favorites. To celebrate the spirit of creativity of Prettier than Matt, guests of all ages are invited to come early for a Craft Share at 6:30 p.m. Bring whatever you enjoy creating and trade or barter with other artisans.

On August 9 the final event of the series will bring the music indoors to the Edisto Beach Civic Center to showcase the talents of Reed Waddle. The voice of Reed Waddle is like weathered velvet and lyrics that echo like prayers in an empty chapel. His award-winning songwriting will remind you that beauty can ache, that truth can tremble, and that sometimes, the most powerful sound is the one that leaves you breathless. Aspiring songwriters are invited to BYOS (Bring Your Own Song) to showcase an original creation.

For the Bay Creek Park events, guests are encouraged to bring chairs/blankets and a pack a picnic. Parking will be limited, so come early and be ready for the show. Food and beverages will NOT be available at these events, but free bottled water will be provided by the Episcopal Church on Edisto.

More information about the artists and the event can be found at edistoartguild.com.

This series has been made possible by the generous support of The Town of Edisto Beach and the Edisto Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Partners and Sponsors

The Arts in the Park Concert series is brought to you by the Edisto Art Guild in partnership with the Edisto Chamber Of Commerce, and The Town of Edisto Beach.

*This project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

It all started when…

The Town of Edisto Beach, at the urging of Cheryl Van Metre and others, built a covered stage and dance floor in Bay Creek Park in 2017, the dream of providing free entertainment for the community and visitors became a reality. That summer, The Town of Edisto Beach, the Edisto Chamber of Commerce, and the Edisto Art Guild teamed up to sponsor three free concerts in the summer months. Since that time, the stage, which was dedicated to Cheryl, has continued to provide the backdrop for The Arts in the Park Summer Concert Series which has become an Edisto tradition - with Cheryl sitting on the front row!
