Tom Poland, A Southern Writer

Tom Poland’s work appears in books, magazines, journals, and newspapers. He writes a weekly column about the South, its people, traditions, lifestyle, and culture and speaks to groups across the South. Governor Henry McMaster conferred the Order of the Palmetto upon Tom, stating, “His work is exceptional to the state.” Tom earned two degrees in Journalism-media from the University of Georgia and is from Lincolnton, Georgia. He lives in Columbia, SC.
